 Day 277 - Lang'ata Giraffe Centrei, Kenya - 10th May, 2005

Today we went to visit this famous Giraffe Centre. It was set up by the Kenyan son of a Scottish earl in 1979 in order to breed the Rothschild Giraffe and release them back into the National Parks.

The main attraction is the raised feeding platform in the visitors centre, where the giraffes will approach and take food from you. You simply can't believe how long their tongues are!

It was a great trip which left us with lasting memories.

There were also warthogs roaming about that Julian took a particular shine to. Especially when they have to kneel on their forelegs to eat, as their necks are too short to reach the ground.
