The intrepid explorers resting after walking up the marble sided canyon known as Mosaic Canyon just off Death Valley. The water and elements had gouged out a canyon where the regular limestone rock had been compressed into marble. The sides of the canyon were silky smooth where gravel had rounded it off over the ages. A geologists delight.
