We were woken this morning around 7:00 am by the mobile phone ringing. I was unable to get to it in time and there is no "missed call" feature so I we didn't know who had called immediately but they would hopefully have left a message.
I called the service providers message centre (thanks Richard from KEG for the phone!) and discovered that we had been called by one of our friends in London. The message was to call them back. We knew it could really only mean one thing. One of Julie's closest friends in London has a son who has been battling cancer for the last 9 months. He is 19 years old and for the last few weeks had been hospitalised and in and out of coma. He died at 1:15 am this morning.
As we heard the news the dawn was breaking over the Rocky Mountains. A new day was breaking for us and a new life was started by Edd's parents and family. A life without their beloved son and brother. Our prayers and our hearts are with them today.
