They all know now

Well I finally got to tell everyone today.  I just don't know how I kept it a secret.  Even Kirsty said she had no idea.  I really have to buckle down and get this software thing sorted.  Only 7 or 8 weeks to go.

We are all really starting to feel the excitement.  We have told the boys and they are both putting together great ideas for our time together.  Sammy particularly has it all worked out and we will need a trip to Rymans the stationers to get some "thick" exercise books so we can do our school work on the way.  Julian said he would only go if we got a laptop.  No worries about that then Daddy.

Just heard that the agents have called and we have a prospective renter coming around this Friday (7th May, 2004). Looks like we may have to tidy the place up a bit. They want to move in June. Ooooppps. We may be looking for a place to live. But we are also buying a 2 bedroom flat in Ealing so we may have to move there even though it will be being refurbished. Things are really moving along now. The house is just about finished and we hope to have the letting agents around by Tuesday May 4th. We are also putting plans together to buy another small flat which we will also rent out whilst we are away. This would provide us with a place to live if we come back and wanted to continue to live off the income from the big house. It might be necessary to do this for a while as I won't have a job when I get back! So onwards and upwards. The good Lord is showing the way.

Getting Ready

Well I've done it now. I told the boss on Monday the 29th March. He was cool and wished me luck. Was OK about me staying on until June/July or whenever. So now the trip is on. Next hurdle is to get the house finished and rented. The final carpet is going down this week. This is after a delay because I nailed down the loose floor boards and put 2 nails clean through a heating pipe. Never was much good at DIY. We keep discussing the itinerary. Like shall we start in New York and then bus to Toronto. Stuff like that. I love it. It's such a delight for me to focus on the new and exciting. For Julie it holds many horrors - not least of which is that she does not enjoy traveling for it's own sake. So much time to spend together. What a blessing. God has been good to us.
